Archie Hughes

From a young age, I demonstrated a strong musical instinct—dancing as a toddler and later learning to play the drums in Year 2. Since then, music has remained a central part of my life. I’ve performed in various bands, some of which have released music on Spotify, and I’ve also developed skills in music production using digital software.

My journey with the drums has been especially rewarding. Progressing through all my graded exams, I’ve gained valuable transferable skills, many of which I enjoy passing on to younger learners. I believe that playing a musical instrument not only fosters personal growth but also creates opportunities to connect with others and build lasting friendships.

Drumming has opened many doors for me—one of the most memorable experiences being the opportunity to go backstage with Paolo Nutini. Moments like these highlight the power of music to inspire, connect, and create meaningful experiences.
